(Please see the lower part of this page for many more of my images taken over the past 17 years in slide show).
I’m constantly adding more of my work to the slideshow on this page. I have a large body of work, so please be patient and return back, as it takes alot of time to upload pictures because i create this website and i can be quite busy at times-all images are copyrite )
I would like to share some of my art work with you.
I like to create collages, photographs, water colour and flower sculptures, spiritual jewellery.
I am very confident when creating , i’ve developed my own style and i never seem to have a ‘artistic block’, similar to a ‘writer’s block’ …
(The slideshow at the bottom of this page is showcasing my photography- But other pages on this site show other art genres of work)
I have a large body of visual art ,with photography being the main genre in which I’ve created. I began taking photographs in my early teens on my first visit to one of the natural wonders of the world- The Grand Canyon and the Nevada/Arizona deserts …. inspired.
My parents were keen travellers-which i am lucky and thankful for; so i experienced a great many cultures throughout my developmental youth years..
I was heavily into the arts and educated in all genres of art throughout my child hood , my parents would often take me to gigs and classical concerts, also, im from The North of England, there is a strong musical influence ingrained in us from living here, deep in our hearts, this is true of most of Britain if I’m to be honest when music is concerned, we love music …
music also helps me to easily visualise in order to create.
I was an inquisitive child often seeing wildlife and journalism imagery in my parents books, i also enjoyed listening to my parents beatles tapes in the early 1980’s. i studied as many art genre’s as i could get my hands on as a very young child, with no outside prompting to do so, i have always had a hunger for art for creativity within myself and others.
their was always some type of Art activity around me And felt inspired to look for unique backgrounds for imagery influenced especially by surrealist art, graphic art and by the changing abandoned buildings of manchester , i like the fact that these abandoned environments were close to disappearing, because the building would soon be knocked down or changed completely and made habitable again for humans to live, work or play…
some of my earliest memories are looking through my parents visual arts library and i also spent a lot of time observing the behavior of others…. a friend who studied psychology said to me one day outside a cafe in summer, that psychologists and photographers/artists in general are similar in the way that we observe life closely.
I have so much work that i am proud of in many genres of photography, however- I also make documentary film, have made and have skills in music+moving imagery editing, intricate collage,book/magazine making, symbolism, flower sculptures, clay sculpting, published poetry, water colour illustrations, and i have also acted on mainstream television most recently in a popular comedy televised in Denmark.I have also modelled in the past professionally, but much prefer to make the art.. I have chosen myself as subject in my art sometimes..
Education-
i have a BA in Photography and film, I left uni and worked professionally in music and fashion, i then returned to the renowned MIRIAD (Manchester institute for research into art and design) Post graduate Art department of Manchester metropolitan university to study, create and research for my Maters of Art which is in an area of art called Art as Environment= Activism, sculpture, public art, performance art, landscape architecture, politics, philosophy, metaphysics/spirituality and ecology…
the artist who was my mentor throughout my Masters is named David Haley, a Buddhist who is a fantastic water artist….
i have taught in highschools in the north west of England -mostly GCSE age group but also yr 7’s= just netering highs school.. i was also offered a post to teach visual culture at manchester metropolitan teaching the BA students however i declined this position due to the enormous amount of activism work that i do.. i have not the time…
I gave up my teaching position and now focus full time on activism, metaphysical, political and spiritual issues, as well as arts…
