Teaching

My Teaching in the Arts and culture

Here are some images of different Art classes creations that i taught…These were created with children who are between the ages of 11-16, i have mostly worked with children who are 11-12 and who are GCSE and BTEC students ages 15-16. I have taken classes with year 9 children too..

i have taught at two schools in the North West. I have recently resigned from my teaching position in order to fully concentrate on my own creative projects and Healing work.. Even though i enjoy teaching and adore the kids i have found that a lot of full time teachers quit creating in their private time, so i only take part time positions or temp teaching positions, i also enjoy guest artist one off classes/workshops. I find it highly beneficial for so many reasons that i create and have some different artistic projects i’m working on..

I am still interested in occasional teaching and ideally this would be work with teenagers.I have my police check forms and as well as art i teach media. I can teach up to Bachelors of art level of education. I was offered the position to teach visual culture to undergraduates at Manchester Metropolitan Uni however i had to decline this position as my activism art creations and research at the time was far too time consuming…

if any groups – youth clubs – teachers etc would like to contact me to take a class or discuss developing a tailor made class -please contact me on the form below.

wire weary factory worker-  This is a clay and wire figure inspired by local artist Lowry, I decided to teach the class about Lowry as his art is a great way to understand about the industrial background of the North of England, especially Manchester/ Lancashire area where their are still a lot of disused mills and converted mills … i photographed this image in the art room i taught in , the silhouette character was created by one of my 14 year old students.
